HP Envy 5530 Print Carriage Cannot Move

Do the following HP Envy 5530 troubleshooting steps to resolve the HP Envy 5530 print carriage cannot move error.
  • The print carriage can be moved by opening the ink cartridge area and adjusting the print carriage.
  • Push down the Power button gently to power on the printer if it is off.
  • Open the scanner lid and the cartridge access door. See if the carriage moves to the cartridge access are of the 123.hp.com/envy5530 printer.
  • If the carriage does not move, gently move the carriage in the forward or backward direction.
  • Check if anything is stuck near the carriage which is making it stuck.
  • Now, take out the cartridge from their slots. Lift the cover on the slot and lightly push the lid back till it no longer moves.
  • Pull up the cartridge to remove it. Insert the cartridges again after checking if there is any dust particle.
  • Shut the ink cartridge access door and the scanner cover.
  • Check if the carriage still cannot move. If it can, the error is resolved.

  • Take out the paper from the main input tray. Reload the paper.
