Steps to Follow for First Time Printer Setup
Step 1: Remove the printer from the box
Step 2: Connect the power cord and set your preferences
Step 3: Install the ink cartridges

Your HP printer hardware is now set up and you can install the printing software. Do not attempt to connect the printer to a computer until instructed to do so in the printing software.

Steps to Follow for First Time Printer Setup
Step 1: Remove the printer from the box
Step 2: Connect the power cord and set your preferences
Step 3: Install the ink cartridges
Step 4: Load paper into the main input tray
Step 5: Install the printer software
Step 1: Remove the printer from the box
- The first steps for HP Envy Photo 7158 First Time Printer Setup is have to remove the printer from the packed box
- Then remove all the tapes carefully and packing materials from the outside of the printer, and then remove the sticker from the printer control panel.
- Lift the scanner lid, remove the packing material from the scanner glass, and then close the scanner lid.
- Gently grasp the handles on either side of the printer, raise the ink cartridge access door until it locks into place, and then remove all tape and packing material from the printer.
- Now Close the ink cartridge access door.
- Recycle the packing materials.
- Connect the power cable to the rear of the printer, and then plug the other end of the power cable into an electrical outlet.
- Switch on the printer.
- To set your preferences on the printer control panel, Select your preferred language and country or region, and then give Yes to confirm your choices.
- Now you get a welcome screen displays on the printer control panel.
- Next you continue with ink cartridges installation
- Now Install the HP ink cartridges that shipped in the box with your printer.
Then open the ink cartridge access door. - Have to wait until the carriage is idle and silent before you continue.
- Remove one of the ink cartridges from its package. Be careful to touch the black plastic on the ink cartridge
- Remove packing material and tape from the input and photo trays, and then load unused A4 paper(for Test) in the input tray.
- First Pull and open the input tray and then remove the output tray, Now remove all tape and packing materials from the photo tray.
- With the paper tray pulled out, push in the photo tray.
- Then Remove all tape and packing materials from inside the input tray.
Slide out the paper guides as far as possible. - Load paper in portrait orientation with the print side facing down, and then push the stack into the tray until it stops.
- Slide the paper guides until they touch the edge of the stack of paper.
- Do not push the guides in so tightly that they bind against the paper.
- Replace the output tray on the paper tray, and then push in the input tray until it locks into place.
- The printer starts an initialization process. It is normal for the printer to make noises during this process. After the process completes, the printer prints a calibration page.
- Recycle all packing materials.
Your HP printer hardware is now set up and you can install the printing software. Do not attempt to connect the printer to a computer until instructed to do so in the printing software.
