How To solve HP Envy 5055 Printer Ink Cartridge Error?

Follow our Step by step instruction to Solve HP Envy 5055 Printer Ink Cartridge Error. Certain releases of ink cartridges are not compatible with previous versions of printer firmware.


  1. Firstly Update the firmware to solve this issue. Ensure the ink cartridges are compatible. 
  2. If the ink cartridges are not perfectly installed, then problems may arise. 
  3. Switch on the printer and load paper into the input tray. Gently grasp the handles on both sides of the printer, and then raise the ink cartridge access door until it snaps into place. 
  4. The carriage moves slightly to the left. Wait till the printer is silent. 
  5. Raise the lid on the ink cartridge slot, and then pull up on the ink cartridge to remove it from the slot. 
  6. With the nozzles facing the printer, place the ink cartridge into its slot until it snaps into place. 
  7. The lid should be closed on the ink cartridge slot to secure the ink cartridge into place. Close the ink cartridge access door. 
  8. The printer might display an ink cartridge error if the ink cartridge contacts are dirty. 
  9. Remove the ink cartridges, unplug any cables or cords, and then clean the electrical contacts on the ink cartridges and print carriage. 
  10. Resetting the printer can solve the ink cartridge error. 
  11. Cleaning the ink cartridge contacts can help to resolve the issue. After cleaning try to print. 
  12. Replace either one or both ink cartridges indicated on the control panel of the printer. 
  13. Switch on the printer. Load plain paper into the input tray. 
  14. Gently grasp the handles on both sides of the printer, and then raise the ink cartridge access door until it snaps into place. The carriage moves slightly to the left. 
  15. Wait until the cartridge is silent. With the nozzles facing the printer, place the ink cartridge into its slot until it snaps into place. 
  16. Close the lid on the slot of the ink cartridge slot to keep the ink cartridge secure into place. Lift the scanner lid, place the alignment page with the print side down on the scanner glass. 
  17. Close the scanner lid and then try to print.
