Resolve HP Officejet Pro 6968 Printer scan to Email Setup Issues & Scanner Error

The Officejet Pro 6968 printer does support wireless printing and hence, you can schedule wireless printing tasks to your printer or from your printer. Scan your document and send the copy directly to your mail account through HP’s ePrint feature. This feature helps you send print jobs to the printer through email.

Quick guide for resolving Scan to Email issue

1. Verify whether your email service provider allows other applications to access your account or not.
2. Switch ON your printer and enable the wireless feature.
3. Try restoring your network options to default by tapping on Restore Network Defaults.
4. Restart the printer.
5. On its panel, go to Wireless Setup Wizard and establish a wireless connection to your network.
6. Disable and enable the Web Services.
7. Setup Scan to Email.
8. Change the DNS(Domain Name Servers) settings and restart the machine.

Detailed instructions for resolving the scanner error

1. Open the browser on your computer/mobile and log in to your email account. In the Settings menu of your email, click on Authentication, Security or SMTP or whichever option is similar. Proceed with the prompts and enable the Scan to email feature.
2. Power ON the printer and wait for it to become idle. Touch the Wireless icon on the its panel and open the Settings menu.
3. Tap Restore Network Defaults and wait until the settings are reset back to default. After that process, turn off the printer. After several seconds, turn it back on.
4. Now, again on your printer panel, select the Wireless icon and choose Wireless Setup Wizard. Establish a wireless connected.
5. Enable the web services on the printer. If the Scan to email feature is still not enabled, try following the below mentioned steps.
6. Press the Web services option on your computer and click on Settings. Then, choose the ‘Remove web services’ option and tap OK. The home page will be displayed.
7. Now, on your printer, tap the Web services icon on the printer panel and follow the prompts to enable the web services. Here, you can enable the Scan to Email feature. If the issue persists, try the steps provided below.
8. Tap the Settings option and touch the Network Configuration option. The device will print a network configuration page. You will find the printer’s IP address on that page.
9. Launch the web browser and enter the printer’s IP address in the search field. Click the Wired or Wireless option and select iPV4. Press the Manual DNS option.
10. Make sure 8.8.8.8 is displayed on the Preferred Type and 8.8.4.4 is displayed on the Alternate Type. Detach the modem from the wall outlet and plug it back after 30 seconds. Then, restart the printer and try printing.
