HP scan app Not Working after Upgrading to Mac 10.14 (Mojave)

Upgrading your operating system can be good for your system, but your printer might not respond to the functions later. On a Mac computer, the HP Scan app is used generally. When you upgrade your Mac OS from High Sierra to Mojave 10.14v, the printer may not respond to your command no longer.

Quick Steps to Troubleshoot HP Scan App in Mac System
  1. Make sure you have the latest software installation CD while performing a system upgrade.
  2. Restart your computer after the upgrade.
  3. Uninstall the printer software from your computer.
  4. Insert the latest driver CD into the CD drive of your computer.
  5. Use an external USB CD drive if your Mac system doesn’t have a CD drive.
  6. Make sure the CD drive matches your upgraded operating system.
  7. Start the installation process.

Elaborate Steps to Troubleshoot the HP Scan app in Mac system
  1. Scanning options might not work or even become unavailable after a major system upgrade. We have listed some solutions for you in the following. 
  2. Try installing the built-in driver for Mac as an alternative. If you do not find a software installation CD or a full feature driver available for this version of Mac, you must install the built-in driver. 
  3. But, fortunately there is a driver available for Mac’s High Sierra operating system. All you have to do is, get it from the manufacturer’s website. 
  4. Open the web browser on your Mac computer. Enter your printer model. In the next page, under the operating system section, set your operating system as High Sierra. 
  5. Click on Submit. The next page will display the driver and firmware available for your operating system. Click on the Download button present below to start the download process.
  6. After the download completes, install the driver by following the on-screen prompts. After the installation, restart the computer once. Now, you can print happily.
  7. You can also perform the mentioned in the following if none of the above steps work. Go to the Applications folder and uninstall the HP Scan or the HP Easy Scan application. Remove the application by moving it to the Trash folder.
  8. Now, install the latest HP Easy Scan application from the official manufacturer’s website or even from Apple’s App Store or on itunes.
  9. Make sure you are running on the latest software. To get the latest software for your Mac computer, go to the manufacturer website and download them. 
  10.  Finally, make sure that you have latest drivers by clicking on the Apple icon. Then, select About this Mac and press on Software Update.
